Drum and Trance Weekend

Voice, Trance and Rhythm Intensive with Bríghde Éire and Georgia Midnight Crow

Saturday and Sunday, 2 – 3 May 2015

Working with the Elements of Life as a means to guide our work for the weekend, we set our intention to move between the worlds. As witches, our ability to connect to our Godsoul, the most whole, most sound and perfect part of us, and open up to our Ancestors, Allies, the Fey, and the Divine, is in direct correlation to how powerful we are as magical beings.

We will touch on brain wave theory, rhythmic entrainment and Eriksonian Trance techniques. Our tools will be our voices, our bodies and the rhythmic nature of our heartbeats, it’s own unique beat  within the multiverse. Underpinning it all is our breath.

The weekend will be structured around the elements of air, fire, water, earth and spirit. Opening with air on Saturday morning at 10 am, we’ll begin with breathing techniques and other exercises with breath and voice. The afternoon will cover trance theory and techniques with water, ending at 5 pm. For those who wish to stay for the Béaltaine Ritual Saturday night, ritual planning will be done as collaborative experience. Béaltaine ritual will begin at 7:30 pm. Sunday will begin at 10 am with fire, going over rhythms for trance, and the elements. The afternoon will focus our new or strengthened understanding and skills with earth, wrapping up at 3pm. Students will go away with one notated rhythm for trance work and layered rhythms for all five elements. Spirit is our intention for the weekend and your own personal motivation and practice that you bring and take away, building on your personal spiritual magical development.

Coffee and tea will be provided. Shops are close enough for purchasing lunches and food to share.

The White Hill Centre is a beautiful old building that sits on a hill a short walk up from the train station. Chesham is on the Metropolitan Line on the London Underground. Suggestions for accommodation will be suggested upon request.
